Deadly Blizzard Strike Eastern Europe

So far the recent blizzard that has hit Belgrade, Serbia has killed five people and left many other stranded. In just a few hours the area was hit with over 20 inches of snowing making transportation almost impossible. The nearest airport was closed due to conditions as well as many roads. Closing down such main areas of transportation stranded many people in cars and buses that needed to be rescued. The prime minister ordered local police to aid with the effort of the  rescuing operation. These tragic deaths could have been stopped by better planning as well as better technological mitigation. If more serious warnings would have been put out alerting the population then more people wouldn't have been out on the road.
