Japan hit by magnitude 7.3 earthquake on 12/7/12

Recently Japan was struck by  mag 7.3 earthquake that left it barely affect by the natural disaster. This earthquake preceded the last large quake which took place back in March 2011 that left more than 20,000 dead. This quake also sent a meter high tsunami across the ocean and hit Ishinomaki. This time around there was better tsunami preparation and people were able to flee from the coast line to get to higher ground.
Thanks to Japan's warning system, people in the area had up to six minutes to take precautions between the first estimate of the quake's intensity and the moment it struck.
This quake, with its very similar to the last one that caused so much damage, people were worried about the Fukushima nuclear plant. It was confirmed that nothing had been damaged or been affected by the quake and tsunami.

This image shows the location on the epicenter of the earth quake and the surrounding effect of the tsunami it produced.
